• My password is not accepted when I try to log in. What's wrong?
  Most likely, you haven't opened a Virginia Lottery account. You'll need to open an account to enter your Scratcher(s). Click Register in the top-right corner of this page to register. Once you’ve completed registration, click the Continue button.
• I forgot my password. What should I do?
  Click Login in the top-right corner of this page, and follow the instructions to have your password emailed to you. You'll need to use the original email address (even if it is no longer current) you used to open your account.
• I am not able to enter my Scratcher(s). When I click on SUBMIT or ENTER TICKETS, I am asked to log in. Why is this happening?
  To enter this promotion, you need a Virginia Lottery account. To open an account, click Register in the top-right corner of this page to register. Once you’ve completed registration, click the Continue button.
• How do I use the Scratcher to enter?



A player must use the player’s mobile phone camera to scan the Scratcher’s barcode on the front of the ticket with the ticket-scanning feature via the mobile version of valottery.com or in the Lottery app. Players must scan the ticket into Virginia Lottery Rewards to enter the promotion.
• I received a message that says my Scratcher has already been entered. How can that be if I have the Scratcher in my possession, and what should I do?
  If your ticket has already been entered, you will be advised immediately when you attempt to enter it. For reference, you can check through the email(s) you have received after entering a ticket or tickets to confirm that the Scratcher has already been entered. If it has not, please contact the Lottery by filling out the email form on our Contact Us  page. Include all applicable numbers that you tried to enter, and the Virginia Lottery will investigate.
• May I enter the drawing more than once?
  Yes. A player may enter the drawing more than once if a different qualifying Scratcher is used to enter. However, a player is eligible to win only one prize in the drawing for this promotion.
• I have Scratchers, but I can't remember whether I have entered them into the drawing. How can I see which Scratchers have been entered?
  If your ticket has already been entered, you will be advised immediately when you attempt to enter it. For reference, you can check through the email(s) you have received after entering a ticket or tickets to confirm that the Scratcher has already been entered.
• May I dispose of the Scratcher after I have entered it using my account?
  Yes. For this promotion, you do not need to keep your Scratcher(s) once you have successfully submitted the Scratcher(s).
• Do I need to be a Virginia resident to enter any Virginia Lottery promotion?
  No. There are no restrictions for out-of-state players. Anyone who is eligible to purchase Virginia Lottery tickets is eligible to participate in this promotion.
• How do I find out if I have been selected as a winner?
  For this promotion, an unofficial list of winners will be posted on our website no more than five (5) business days after the drawing. Winners become official once we've verified they qualify. We check age, identification and entry-form validity. We will contact winners directly to explain how to claim a prize.
• I submitted several entries into the drawing. Why didn't I win a prize?
  The odds of winning a prize in this promotion depend on the total number of entries received.
• How many tickets can I enter each day?
  A player may enter the promotion more than once as long as each entry is based upon a different eligible Scratcher and the total number of entries does not exceed the fifty (50) daily maximum.

• From July 1, 2026, through August 2, 2026, players can enter any $5, $10, $20, $30 or $50 Virginia Lottery Scratcher into the Summer Sizzle Scratcher Promotion.
• The promotional period and entry period for the Summer Sizzle Scratcher Promotion begins on July 1, 2026, and ends on August 2, 2026, at 11:59:59 p.m. ET.
• Winning and nonwinning Scratchers that meet the price-point requirement for this promotion are eligible for entry.
• In the promotion’s drawing, 15 players each will win five packs of a $5 Scratcher (200 total Scratchers) plus $500.
• A player can enter this promotion only via the mobile web version of valottery.com or in the Lottery mobile app. Players must scan the ticket into Virginia Lottery Rewards to enter the promotion.
• This promotion is open to players 18 years of age or older. A player may be required to provide proof of the player's date of birth.
• A player may enter the drawing more than once if a different qualifying Scratcher is used for entry. However, a player is eligible to win only one prize in the drawing for this promotion.
• All entries have an equal chance of winning a prize.
• Odds of winning a prize in the Summer Sizzle Scratcher Promotion depend on the total number of entries received.
• A player does not need to keep the Scratcher(s) once the player has successfully submitted the Scratcher(s).
• The Virginia Lottery will not be responsible for entries submitted incorrectly or received before the entry period start date or after the entry deadline. Such entries shall be deemed invalid.
• We try to contact winners by email, phone and/or mail. If you want us to reach you quickly, be sure your contact information is up to date in your Virginia Lottery online account. Winners who do not respond to their winner notification will forfeit their prize. If we can't reach a winner by the deadline listed in the rules, we will then move on to an alternate.
